Sometimes I go to see movies without ever watching its trailer beforehand. I walked into da theater and got one ticket for the movie Slanted. Wow! That was a lotta movie to take in. Where can I even start, let alone, finish this episode?
One overt idea in the film is — Would you change yourself if you thought it would make people like you more? Does that even get you anywhere in life? If Dis Drawma Kingg changed himself to try to gain popularity, would it accomplish anything?
Trial #1: Imagine I choose the path of no longer being the man with the lowest IQ in bipedal human history. How would I execute that? I don’t know how to instantly change my IQ points! That may just be on account of my particularly low IQ though.
Trial #2: Imagine Dis Drawma Kingg chooses not to be an overly dramatic writer of movie reviews and comic books. Alternatively, I will be one of those players of sports. Ohh yeah, the glory would be great! Wait a second, that means I would have to know how to sport! We can just cross that one off the list.
Final Thoughts: 6/10 Crowns. Slanted was a movie that needs time and multiple viewings to fully assess. To mention a positive – all of the acting was excellent! I will say that I wasn’t feeling like it was a great overall experience while watching it in the theater, but it definitely makes your brain ponder afterwards. Plus, I learned something from the film. Dis Drawma Kingg will try to be his overly dramatic self as much as possible from now on!
