  • 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE 2026 Movie Review – Why Did You Give Me That Sandwich?

Why did you give me that sandwich? It was not a tasty sandwich. In my review of the third 28 Later movie in 2025, I complained that 28 Years Later would have been better without the intro and outro scenes about the Jimmy character. The rest of the movie had nothing to do with him and was really good! I deemed these intro/outro scenes – Da Sandwich! Well here we are in the sequel. What’s the point of this Jimmy character? Why did they make 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple? Was Da Sandwich created for a reason?

The short answer is – not a very good one. You might say there were some good fixins in Da Sandwich though. Ralph Fiennes’ acting was exceptional, and his character was surprisingly likable. He seemed to have a love for music such as Duran Duran and Iron Maiden. I think I heard him say “Memento Mori” at the end which is the name of a Depeche Mode album too. I don’t think the writers were actually using it that way, but for the official cannon story I create in my overly drawmatic head, it was definitely a Depeche Mode reference!

Otherwise, I found the movie so-so. There were plot threads that fizzled. One example: there were multiple conversations about the Teletubbies, but nothing was concluded on the matter. There was also an intriguing, yet unresolved, sub plot about an infected patient that Dr. Ian Kelsen (Ralph Fiennes) was treating. I thought this was going to go somewhere really exciting during the climax. Unfortunately, it did not.

Why Did You Give Me That Sandwich?: I think the previous movie created Da Sandwich just to try to turn 28 Later into a bigger franchise with notable characters. However, SUPER SPOILER: neither Dr. Ian Kelsen nor Jimmy appear to make it out alive. So this franchise expansion kinda implodes in the end.

Final Thoughts: 6/10 Crowns. Da Sandwich should have set up something a little better than 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. At this point, I am very lukewarm on all four of the 28 Later movies. I’ll still probably go see the next one though. Apparently mediocrity doesn’t stop me from giving movie franchises more money.

  • FRANKENSTEIN 2025 Movie Review – Is It Worth Watching?

Animated and alone, the architect is immersed in the process of creation. Stitching together a masterwork of history (such as 35 episodes of Drawma Kingg that are somehow slightly interconnected) requires electrifying focus. Frankenstein is fundamentally a movie about a son and dad fighting with each other. That was pretty much the same plot in the last movie I reviewed, and I would be bored talking about it two weeks in a row. Dis Drawma Kingg is ‘bout to talk about NOT the movie!

So 35 episodes of Drawma Kingg already, huh? How did I manage that? Some critics argue it’s because they show no signs of intelligence and thus do not fatigue my brain at all. I would probably agree with that too. So what was the point of 35 random themes of the week?

Other than Ban Smith, William Aris/Interlock, and Katie Nightfire appearing twice each, there weren’t really any reoccurring characters. Well, I got news for you, Chuck! Drawma Kingg Sidequest #3, the new issue of my pictureless comic book series, is coming soon, and it features BRAND NEW CHARACTERS! After #3, you can expect some new stories about returning characters like the superhero known as Interlock. You might even get a solo Katie Nightfire story! Who knows? Maybe I should have a sequel to that surreal story where the guy can’t properly focus his mind on the unnamed beach stuff that he merely “seems” to be doing.

Oh the point though? Drawmakingg.com’s purpose is to make you laugh and to give you an archive of enjoyable reading material at your fingertips for any time you are bored. Occasionally, there are non-comedy episodes too that are just meant to be enjoyable reads. That’s really all there is to it in terms of intention. Accidentally, the supposed movie reviews and other stories have become an interconnected network of references that have turned it into a sort of words-only cinematic universe

Is It Worth Watching?: Yes! I forgot to mention the movie was really good!

Final Thoughts: 8/10 Crowns maybe? I am actually really struggling with the exact number of crowns to give Frankenstein. Carrying the whole film strongly, Oscar Isaac was an absolute perfect fit for Victor Frankenstein. Guillermo del Toro’s directing and the special effects were also super cool! Woulda been nice if it woulda came to streaming services by Halloween this year for extra spooky. Why O Why, I ask! Why can’t movie release dates be exactly what I want them to BE?

  • DEPECHE MODE: M 2025 Movie Review – Is It Worth Watching?

What does the M stand for? Depeche Mode: M is a film about the electronic music group, Depeche Mode, and philosophical questions about something or other. I know not what these questions are. Three guesses come to mind on what the second M in the movie title stands for.

First guess, “Memento”, and the full title of the movie is Depeche Mode: Memento. As a long time Depeche Mode fan, I found the complete selection of songs to be an interesting statement in itself. A mix of the new Memento Mori album tracks and the classic hits.

Next guess, “Mori”. Full title: Depeche Mode: Mori. It’s not called Depeche Mode MM so it’s probably one of the two. I ain’t no Bandolier Smith (see Drawma Kingg Sidequest #1 or the brief non sequitur story in my TOGETHER 2025 movie review for Ban’s very first appearance), but I can deduce a thing or two once in a while. Oh, the DAVE DANCE! That’s what I wanted to talk about in this paragraph. During the song Sister of Night, Dave Gahan does a really cool and amusing dance when he has a break from singing. I’m just callin’ it the DAVE DANCE. He has lots o’ those from over the years though, so calling just one move the DAVE DANCE is a little reductive of his whole decades-long touring career. Point being – I love all of Dave’s dances from Depeche Mode tours. Still callin’ this one, the DAVE DANCE.

Is It Worth Watching?: Definitely for the DAVE DANCE alone!

Final Thoughts: 7.5/10 Crowns. Condemnation with just guitar and vocals was an unforeseen gem of the concert. Normally a piano heavy track, Condemnation is one of my all-time favorite Depeche Mode songs! Oddly, most of the moviegoers in the theater stayed until the credits had completely stopped rolling. Dis Drawma Kingg thinks they were waiting for a bonus scene in the DMCU. That is, the Depeche Mode Cinematic Universe. Oh yeah, I said I had three guesses about what the M stands for. Third guess: “Mode”. The full title of the film being: Depeche Mode: Mode! Clearly, this is the best guess I have ever had about anything so far!
